REALM IN A NUTSHELL

Realm is where financial clarity meets intentional living - bringing the ideal into reality. I'm here to help you align your money with your values, simplify the complex, and build life that feels abundant and unhurried.

Hi, I’m Jonathan, the founder of Realm Financial Planning.

I started Realm because I believe financial planning is about more than just managing money—it’s about creating a life that feels aligned, abundant, and meaningful. My goal is to help you simplify the complex, make confident decisions, and use your finances as a tool to support what matters most to you.

Before founding Realm, I spent over three years as a Financial Consultant, where I gained hands-on experience helping families and entrepreneurs navigate their finances. Earlier in my career, I studied psychology, civil engineering, and financial planning, which gives me a unique perspective on problem-solving and decision-making. My wife and I also taught Financial Peace University together, which sparked my passion for helping others steward their resources with intention.

I work with builders and dreamers—entrepreneurs, thoughtful families, and early-stage solopreneurs—who want to create a financial foundation that supports their goals without the overwhelm. Whether you’re growing a business, planning for your family, or simply seeking clarity, I’m here to walk alongside you.

If this resonates with you, let’s connect. Together, we can co-create a financial plan that fits your story and helps you live with purpose and peace.

When I'm not planning...

When I’m not working with clients or diving into something deep, nerdy, or delightfully silly, you’ll likely find me doing one of three things:

Firing up my Ooni to make Neapolitan-style pizza

It’s part therapy, part art form. There’s something so satisfying about perfecting dough hydration ratios and experimenting with toppings (yes, I geek out over it). Cooking with my wife for friends and family is my love language and pizza nights are my favorite way to bring everyone together.

On the ice playing hockey.
(Yes, that's really me in the pic!)

I didn't grow up playing hockey, but in my twenties, a friend introduced me to it, and after a few wobbly skating sessions, I was hooked.

Now, I play for the joy of it—for the friendships and to stay humble (falling on ice will do that).

It's one of my favorite ways to stay moving and stay connected.

Learning through BibleProject

BibleProject has been a game-changer for me. Their work blends deep theological insight with easily understandable ideas, making scripture come alive in ways that fuel both my faith and my curiosity.

Their mission is to "help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus." Everything they make is available for free!
